Developer Idolumic has a couple of applications that songwriters will find useful: Rhyme Genie and TuneSmith. The first one, Rhyme Genie, will help you find rhymes for any word you want; it is a properly good rhyming dictionary that is sure to prove very useful to songwriters.
The second one, Idolumic, will help you manage a collection of songs and will help you with the songwriting process. The application comes with a lyrics editor, song pitch journal, creative talent management, support for multiple platforms, and more.

The system requirements for running TuneSmith aren’t very high. To run it on a PC, you need to meet the following requirements: Pentium 3 700MHz processor or better, 180Mb of free disk space, Windows operating system (XP SP3, Vista Sp2, 7, or 8). And to run it on a Mac, you need to meet these requirements: Intel-based Mac, 800MB of free hard disk space, Mac OS X 10.6 or higher. The installation process on Windows is a standard one: download an executable, run it, click through the setup wizard.

Before you go and start using TuneSmith, it may be a good idea to download the PDF quick start tutorial or the video tutorial the developer offers for download on the official TuneSmith webpage. Alternatively, you can click on the Help button from within the application and select the option to view the online video tutorial. This should help you get accustomed more easily to the sort of functionality offered by TuneSmith.

Since we’re talking about functionality, I think it is a good idea to list the most important features TuneSmith offers: keep track of creative talent, manage a catalog of songs, edit lyrics, chord sheet, pitch journal, keep track of tasks, crate new records or browse through the built in ones, adjust the format, create a new backup or revert to a previous one, print out info.

Please note that TuneSmith is meant as a free companion product for licensed users of Rhyme Genie.

Songwriters and other creative people are very well advised to give TuneSmith and Rhyme Genie a try.

Pros

Any modern PC will have no problem meeting TuneSmith’s system requirements; the application is also available for Mac OS X. Getting started guide and video tutorial are available for download. TuneSmith gives you the tools you need to enhance your songwriting and manage song catalogs.
